This pocket or handbag sized tourist publication is an ideal guide and map with which to explore the central area of London. Side one features large scale coloured street mapping of central London extending to London Zoo in Regent's Park, St. Pancras International Station, Kings Cross, Barbican, Monument, Tower Bridge, The Imperial War Museum, Tate Britain, Sloane Square, South Kensington, Kensington Palace and Paddington Station. The map uses colour coding and symbols to clearly show features of interest. The route of the sixteen mile Jubilee Walk and the seven mile Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Walk are shown on the map. There is an index to selected places of interest that uses a star rating system to highlight recommended visitor attractions. Information is shown relating to bus and coach tours, also canal and boat trips. An inset map features bus routes in central London and includes a list of transport stations and river piers. Cinemas, Theatres, Concert Halls, Opera and Ballet venues are listed with their telephone numbers.
The reverse side of the publication features a further five suggested walks arranged as circular tours that can be started and finished at any convenient place along the route. Each of these five walks, the Westminster Walk, the City of London Walk, the British Museum / Inns of Court Walk, the West End Walk and the Riverside Walk, includes a coloured route map along with text explaining the route, brief descriptions of the main places of interest and colour photographs. Text relating to the Jubilee walk is also included. Tourist Information Centres are listed with addresses and telephone numbers along with information about London Transport.
